You can adjust macOS notification delivery yourself. Keep work-critical or safety-related alerts allowed when needed.

Review Mac notifications and Focus settings

Adjust alerts for a work block

  1. Open System Settings and choose Notifications.
  2. Select an app and review its Allow Notifications and alert-style options.
  3. For a temporary work block, open Focus settings and choose which people or apps may notify you.
  4. Test a non-critical app first and confirm that essential alerts still arrive.

NotchDock’s timer is separate from macOS notification controls; it does not switch Focus on automatically. See Apple’s Notifications settings guide and Focus guide.
