Build a stock watchlist for your Mac notch

Create named watchlists, keep selected symbols in the notch, and inspect price changes and history charts in NotchDock’s Stocks widget.

Make a list for the symbols you follow

Open Stocks Settings to create or rename a watchlist, choose one to edit, and search for a company or ticker. Add a result to the list, or remove a symbol when you no longer need it. You can keep up to ten named lists.

NotchDock starts with Tech, Indices, Crypto, and Custom lists. You can use the presets as they are or edit them to fit the names you want to follow.

Pin a ticker and review its chart

  1. In Stocks Settings, select a watchlist and use Search and Add Stock to find a ticker.
  2. Use the bookmark control beside a list item to pin or unpin it.
  3. Open the expanded Stocks widget to review the quote and choose a chart range: 1D, 5D, 1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y, 5Y, 10Y, 20Y, or Max.

The widget presents quote values, price movement, and a price-history chart. It is a watchlist and chart view; it does not calculate your account’s cost basis or portfolio profit and loss, and it does not provide price-threshold alerts.

Know where quote requests go

Stock search and quote-history requests use Yahoo Finance endpoints. The ticker or search text you enter is sent to Yahoo Finance to look up symbols and market data. Quote availability and timing depend on that data source; use another source to confirm information before making a financial decision.

Common questions

Can I follow indices and cryptocurrencies?

Yes. The starter lists include index and crypto symbols, and the widget can search for symbols available through its Yahoo Finance lookups.

Does the widget calculate my portfolio return?

No. It displays symbol-level quote information and price history. It does not track your share count, purchase price, account balance, or profit and loss.

Does it notify me when a price reaches a threshold?

No. The current Stocks widget offers watchlists, pinning, quote details, and chart ranges, not price-threshold alerts.
