Apple Music, Spotify, and Kaset controls in NotchDock

NotchDock provides one Music widget for three supported players, but the controls are not identical. This guide lists current differences rather than comparing latency or resource use.

Compare the controls you can use

  • Apple Music and Spotify: play/pause, track navigation, and seeking are supported where the player exposes them.
  • Kaset: supported as a player; Like is a Kaset-only action. Seeking is not supported.
  • Artwork: the widget uses information exposed by the player. Some Spotify or Kaset artwork is loaded from a player URL and may need network access.

To check your setup, start playback in each player, open the Music widget, and try the controls listed for that player. Do not infer equal behavior, fixed update time, battery use, or offline access from the shared widget.

See the current Music widget guide.

NotchDock is currently free during beta and requires macOS 14 or newer.
